La Morada

La Morada is a very special gem. It's an undocumented family-owned and operated Oaxacan restaurant in the South Bronx, dedicated to preserving and sharing indigenous Mexican cuisine with friends and neighbors. The family is passionate about sharing culture, art and community initiatives while actively participating in social justice causes - with 'refugees welcome' written on the front door, pottery and local art lining the walls, and a lending library out the back. Because they are undocumented, they don't qualify for the assistance other businesses are getting, so every merch purchase helps La Morada survive until they can once again open their doors and serve the community.
